“ Here's a hint: they have a big long line of locals waiting to buy take/away lunch, and the friendly local waiting in line with me told me that they serve the best socca in Nice. I've only gotten take away here, but it has all been beyond delicious. If you're craving anything fried, or want to try a plate of farcis, this is your spot. ”
“ Great spot to try the Nice speciality. Line inevitable but $3 is well worth it for a good sized pile of fresh socca. Also tried the sardines which were fishy and filling. Bones in was tough to get past but still finished it all. Prices are fair and line moves as fast as it can. Would say that ordering for here is ridiculous as they won't let you sit unless you order a drink. Recommendation to add a bar area to eat standing up otherwise a spot to visit in Nice. ”
“ My guidebook mentioned socca of course and even talked about this establishment in particular. So while we were strolling around town I was telling my boyfriend that we should go find the place for a casual dinner. He was already hungry though and asked if we can stop somewhere for a snack. He sees the stalls here and suggests we stop here. We see they have socca and were like 'oh cool' but eventually realize we had stumbled upon Chez Rene Socca after all! We had a laugh about it, picked a table, and got a plate of socca as well as a few other small plates of food and washed it down with rosé. The food is good and inexpensive and trying out this regional specialty should definitely be part of your trip. ”
“ I recently visited Nice for the first time and knew I had to try socca. This place was perfect! We went here 2x during our 5 day stay. The socca was delish and the sangria was the best I've had! The zuchinni flowers are greasy but yummy. A great place for lunch or dinner that's fun and cheap. The girl who serves up the socca from the giant pan was warm and fun. The place was always buzzing with quite the line. One tip: eat the blackened part! It adds so much flavor. ”
“ Lives up to reputation. Long lines outside. Great food. Lots if side dishes you can add. Not expensive. Lots of table space outside. Great local food and flavor. Worth a visit if you are in Nice! ”
